Quote of the Day...

Somehow we got on the topic of bums and how they are muscles...
Alix - "Wow, Mom, your bum must be really, really strong then!"
Yes. Yes it is...

Not my fault...

If anyone has any doubts as to who is to "blame" for our family having 4 girls, here's the proof. It's Tom's fault. This was his car at the end of our Life game for Family Home Evening on Monday.
I really am, apparently, just along for the ride!
Tom and his Ladies in Waiting...

Going Green

We love a good excuse to party. St. Patricks day was our latest excuse...
Brooke and her friend Kate leprechauning it up
Erin on her way to school
Alix on her way to school
and Brooke - on her way to (you guessed it...) school
We had our annual Green Day Party and even had some green chicken this year. It tasted good- if you could get past the color... Also lettuce wraps, green mashed potatoes, green pesto pasta, green bread and green cookies. And lots of great friends, all "going green..."

6!

The twins turned six on March 8th. I really can't believe it. I'd certainly never go back to when they were babies, but how on earth did they get to be six? We sure love these girls!
me - "what kind of cake do you want for your birthday?"
alix - "well, when we eat cake..." (awkward pause....)
erin - "we, actually don't like cake, mom..."
So we had brownies for their actual birthday...
And a sugar cookie "cake" for their birthday party...
11 6 year olds? Went surprisingly smoothly.
We looked for fairy footprints (glass blobs, beads, crystals, etc), made "fairy dust" body glitter, and decorated headbands (more useable later than a fairy wand) and played "fairy, fairy, toad" It wasn't nearly as crazy as I thought it was going to be!

Lost - One bottle of green nail polish

Found - by one 2 year old...

Welcome to the Family,

Nancy Drew. I'm sure you'll fit right in...

Only in a family of all girls...

On the way home from church today, Brooke was looking out the window at the farms passing by...

Brooke - "Oh. He's going to the bathroom!" (in a lightbulb-turned-on sort of voice)
me - "What? Who?" (in a I'm-going-to-call-the-cops sort of voice)
Brooke - "That horse. At first I thought it was something like a Kickstand, then I saw the puddle..."

It then dawned on my that I am raising city kids. And then it dawned on me that perhaps they could use a brother. And then I just couldn't stop laughing. Kickstand has whole new meaning in this family...

Quote of the Day...

Today at occupational therapy, Sam was working really hard...
me - "Wow Sam, your arms must be so tired."
Sam - " Yeah. I got me some sweaty pits!"
She must have an older sister or two... or three... or a father...
